Magen Ware Phyl Charnes English 28, March 2014 Betrayal My research paper is on The Storm, by Kate Chopin. This story is about two married couples having an affair during a fierce storm while their partners are elsewhere. Alcee is a high class, landowner and liked Calixta who was lower class. They were in love but could not let anyone know because it would be a disgrace. Five years later, they were both separately married and did not talk often. Calixta and Bobinot are married and they have a son named Bibi. Their son Bibi is four years old. Bobinot and Bibi were at Friedheim’s store at the beginning of the story. Dark clouds were rolling in from the west and the roar of thunder was coming close. They decided to stay at the store and wait for the storm to pass while watching from within the store will sitting on two kegs. Bibi starts to worry if his mother will be alright home alone. Bobinot reasures Bibi that his mother will be fine. Calixta’s husband purchases a can of shrimp for his wife, which he knows she likes. He s at back down on the keg with the shrimp in his hand and watched the storm with his son. The storm was so rough the wooden store shook and Bibi placed his hand on Bobinots knee and was not afraid with his father by his side. Calixta did not worry for her safety or her husband and childs. She was sewing by the window and did not notice the storm approaching. She seldomly stopped and when she did it was to wipe the sweat off her face. All-American girl books teach little girls one thing; they want to grow up to be Samantha the doll. Growing up, society teaches you everything but the most important thing; social classes, and the true facts about them. All we know growing up is Samantha’s â€Å"perfect† and living the American dream. Through the eyes of society, if we are raised poor we aren’t going to go anywhere; and we learn to hate the top one percent of the population with all of the populations’ money. The girls grew up dreaming of being Samantha, but society pushed us down, and as we became young adults it struck us to dislike the one girl that little girls grew up loving; the All-American girl doll, Samantha. Classism is huge in today’s society, and not many people know what it means, because nobody teaches it anymore. At moments in the film, when Claudio was supposed to be really worried and upset, Robert Sean Leonard made it seem as if Claudio was just pretending to be upset. This gives a false impression to the audience who may think that Claudio was not actually concerned. However, in the wedding scene, he portrayed Claudios anger, brilliantly. It really allowed the audience to see why Claudio would be so angry about being deceived. Dogberry was played by Michael Keaton, who I feel did a brilliant job in depicting Dogberry as the village idiot. I feel he was really able to show that Dogberry was meant to be stupid, and this was done well in the scenes where Dogberry and Verges galloped around on imaginary horses. Volcano Types Essay The distructive power of a valcano is one of the most violent and deadly of all natural forces. In a short period of time, these massive explosions of the earths crust can shatter whole communities. Valcanoes are very distructive no matter how big or how small they erupt at. They cause the highest amount of deaths and the greatest amount of damage. Of the two major types of Volcanoes, andestic and basaltic, the two typical volcanoes begin life when a mass of low-density magma forces its way to the surface. When the density of the rising magma is the same as that of the surrounding rock, it gathers in a magma chamber. Any rise in pressure in the chamber may now push the magma upwards through cracks in the overlying rock. As the magma traveling up a crack approaches the surface, the pressure from the overlying rocks reduces; gases are released from the magma and expand so suddenly that an explosion rips open a funnel shaped vent (called a diatreme) to the surface. The lava that blasts out of the vent then cools, to form cinders, ash and dust all referred to as Tephra. Analysis From the findings segment, it can be deduced that the management control theory of cybernetics is strictly followed by the manager. The findings say that the manager uses the controlling power for managing workforce conflict. Most importantly, controlling is the process for the manager for measuring the volume of potentiality of the supposed outputs to meet the target. The fundamental element of the management controlling aspects of Cybernetics system is measuring the output process to further predict the result of control actions. The management of this enterprise seems therefore more concern in presuming a future view of their formatted structure of processing inputs.
